In this article I will be showing off the lab test photos from the NEW Sony FE 24-50mm f/2.8 G Lens w/ 100% Crops for your pixel peeping pleasure… I used the Sony A7C2 and I was shooting in RAW quality and Auto White Balance….

Just so you know I had the lens correction applied for all the sharpness lab test photos below…
24mm Lab Scene w/ 100% Crops

Minimum Focus Distance Test @ 50mm = 30cm or 11.8in
Minimum Focus Distance Test @ 24mm = 19cm or 7.2in
Closing Remarks
So in closing I will say the corner sharpness @ 50mm was a little bit soft at on the top left of the circuit board at f/2.8 in particular, but overall this lens is very sharp corner to corner at all focal lengths. In addition lens flaws like fringing are non existent which is nothing short of remarkable…
