In this video I will show you how to setup the Sony A6600 for Back Button Auto Focus.
Basically the camera focuses when you press the shutter button down half way, and then takes the photo with a full press of the shutter. This can however be awkward when trying to track moving subjects when using the continuous auto focus mode (AF-C).
So, you can custom configure the camera so the shutter button no longer focuses and just takes the photo. You can then program another button on the back of the camera to control the focus on and off, which is what I show you how to do in this video.
This method will work on any of the new Sony cameras by the way, so please don’t think it is limited to the Sony A6600…
