New Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III – 24-600mm Zeiss Lens!!

Sony just announced a New Sony RX10 III camera and it has a New Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* Zoom Lens with a range of 24-600mm f/2.8-4. This is awesome and a huge improvement over the version II and I cameras. I was really hoping for a 24-400mm lens, but Sony decided to add an extra 200mm of zoom range while maintaining the killer 1″ sensor format. Really impressive work if you ask me and now I really want this camera for my personal everyday life use. I have always said the RX10 series camera is the best all in one camera solution for quality and all-in-one functionality, but competition has come out with great alternatives since the original RX10 was announced.

Now with the amazing 24-600mm range it’s back to being the best all in one bridge camera solution in my opinion. Lets take a closer look at the features to see if anything else has changed 😉

Sony RX10 III Key Features:

    • 20.1MP 1″ Exmor RS BSI CMOS Sensor
    • BIONZ X Image Processor
    • Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* f/2.4-4 Zoom Lens
    • 24-600mm (35mm Equivalent)
    • 2.36m-Dot OLED Tru-Finder EVF
    • 3.0″ 1.228k-Dot Tilting Xtra Fine LCD
    • UHD 4K 30 Video, Full HD 1080p, XAVC S
    • S-Log2 Gamma & Slow-Motion at 960 fps
    • Built-In Wi-Fi with NFC
    • ISO 12800 and 14 fps Continuous Shooting
    • Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization
    • Weight = 2.4lbs or 1095g

Going over the specs fairly quickly, it appears identical to the RX10 II, except for the new killer lens and extra $200 US in cost pus additional weight. I think the new lens makes it worth the extra $200 for sure although the weight increase is fairly significant if that is a concern to you!
