In this video I will be covering the Viltrox 28mm f/1.8 Lens using my Sony A7C II. 28mm is an interesting focal length that offers a less distorted look when compared to 24mm at close range.
In particular 28mm is a really good studio lens option depending on how much room you have and I found it worked great in my studio while also using my Padcaster telepromter which won’t work with a wider lens than that. I was using my FE 35mm f/1.8 Lens for a really long time, but I wanted wider and that is when I found out about the teleprompter issue… I don’t always use it, but occasionly I need to and I just want my studio to be set-up ready to go.
So, this 28mm was the perfect wider angle lens I needed for my studio and still have it work with the teleprompter. There are not many 28mm lenses out there…
By the way, for the record I am now using the new Padcaster Pro which allows for wider angle lenses and my Batis 25mm f/2 lens is my new studio lens for a bit at least….
