received the Sony 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OS Lens a few days ago, and the Sony 24mm f/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens arrived last evening. So, I got up really early this yesterday morning and photographed all the goods in the Lab!!
My 1st impressions of the Sony 18-200mm lens, now having used it a bit, is what a nice lens!! Build quality is incredible on this lens and certainly blows away the Tamron 18-200mm in this regard. In addition to the that the zoom is much smoother on the Sony and damped better. The Optical Stabilization also appears to work excellent and not much difference compared to the Tamron from what I can tell by eye.
I have a Tamron 18-200mm vs the Sony 18-200mm article in thew works, so don’t worry as all the data between the two lenses will be scrutinized to death by me before I conclude anything. My hunch is the Sony will win though in most categories, but I could be wrong 😉
Now for some high res photos of these high quality lenses!!
