We have some very exciting Sony news from the past week or so starting with the announcement of several New Nex E-Mount Lenses planned for 2012 and 2013. We also finally have the official release of the killer 500mm f/4 G Lens for the Alpha Cameras. In addition to that we have a bunch of extremely reliable rumors about the New A57 that is coming out soon. The A57 is the replacement for the A55 of course, and man did Sony jack up the features this time around!! Were talking A77 specs for the most part minus the 24mp sensor and articulating screen. I’m glad it doesn’t have that sensor personally and am really looking forward to testing this camera out. I had a blast reviewing the A35, A77, and A55, so I’m confident this camera will a ton of fun and produce excellent images. Hopefully it will have the Next Gen translucent mirror as well!!
Courtesy of SonyAlphaRumors we have the several confirmed A57 Specs:
- The new A57 will use a 16 megapixel sensor
- Same 12fps function of the A77.
- It also uses the same battery as the A77.
- Menu structure is again the same of the A77
- Same focusing modes as A77
- The EVF looks similar to the A77 (might not be but very good)
- Response time an manual mode very fast with no lag on settings.
- ISO button on top.
- Swivel screen
- A77 Vertical Grip fits on the A57.
- No Top LCD.
- NO GPS.
- No magnesium alloy!

Court “Nano AR coating” with a new structure of the nano-sized
Light incident on the surface of the lens is to reflect at a constant rate, can cause unwanted reflected light flare and ghosting that deteriorate image quality. “Nano AR coating” new coating technology was originally developed by Sony, nano size (one nanometer is one billionth of a meter) in the structure of irregularities arranged on a regular basis, eliminating the boundary surface light on the surface of the lens to substantially reduce the rate of reflection. Has realized the clear and crisp picture quality of this new coating technology to reduce unwanted reflection of light to the limit, with reduced flare and ghosting due to internal reflection.
