I had a chance to test the Sony Alpha 580 with some of my studio lights and a very large softbox. I used an Alien B800 for the strobe and my remote trigger to fire the light from the camera. My remote trigger is not designed for a Sony hot shoe, so I had BHPhotoVideo.com send me a Dot Line Hot Shoe Adapter that converts the Sony a580 hot shoe mount to a Canon hot shoe mount. This allowed me to use my Wireless trigger to set off the lights. The adapter worked flawlessly and totally solved the small problem.
The results are excellent!! The color, clarity, and depth is honestly better than I was expecting for a $750.00 camera body with a decent lens. Very Impressive. Wait till you see these photos below below of our friends/family Gary & Tab.
I’m going to get a higher quality lens I just need to pick one out 🙂 Maybe I’ll go with a 50mm instead? If anybody has requests out there please feel free to add them in the comments section below!!

Unfortunatelyat this time Paul C Buff doesn’t make a trigger for the Sony, but the Dot Line Flash Shoe Adapter is a simple and cheap fix!
Photovision 24″ White Balance target used to set both the white balance and the exposure.
