    Minolta 5000

Does anyone know much about the Minolta 5000, I've just brought one from a charity shop to play with. I believe the lens fitment is an alpha mount so should fit my a58 but other than that I don't know a lot. The lens looks like a sigma superwide but appears to do up to 2ft so does that mean it's a macro?

Don't judge me. I was born to be awesome not perfect.

Sorry Freddie, I really don't Know much about the older film cameras. 24mm is not the best for macro because the lens would have to be right on the subject. 2 feet minim focus distance means it is not a Macro lens for sure and just a nice fast wide angle it sounds like.

Sigma 24 mm f2.8 is not macro lens, highest magnification is 1:4 (X.25)
There is two models of Minolta 5000, Maxxum 5000 AF and Maxxum 5000i (first and second generation of Minolta's auto focusing cameras) they are budget versions of Maxxum 7000
Find manual on line, get some film and see what comes out. I still use my Maxxum 7000 once in a wile
