    Both are very nice shots.

It's been like forever since I've seen (in person) the Milky Way this clear. And the reflection in picture #2 is a nice touch.

Plenty of stars there: are you exposing less than 3 sec to prevent the Sony star-eater problem?

    Cheers!

Nope Fw 4.0 on a7r2 and 20 second exposure (using in camera times)
I believe on reading of star eater issue ....if you think what it does...its like its removing hot pixels , hot pixels are very light specs ...so loosing a few faint stars as it thinks they are hot spots on sensor is no biggy.

    SO basically from that

I am using a 24 mm rokinon 1.4 lens at fe2.0 which allows a lot of light in so hopefully the bad software that does this wont see might bright stars as hot spots.

Excellent shots Steve and I agree on the star eater issue. I really think that would come at the cost of some problems with the Sony sensors otherwise they would fix it. I'm not sure what the issue is exactly though...

    Thanks for sharing,

It's a long but very well documented article. The rest of that site is a great resource.

Yep I use that site all the time.....I have also signed the partition thats going around as well to get sony to fix...because raw files should be just that raw and not have software and stuff working on them...
