American White Pelicans.

We had large group of pelicans at Lake Michigan this year, so I tried to do some flight shots with manual focus (A77II doesn't AF in manual mode)
Gear used:
Sony A77II
Tamron 150-600mm
Benro BV6 video head
Leofoto LN-404C tripod
Sony ECM-XYST1M microphone



Clicking noise is from strap lugs on camera, I fixed it after this video

Heavy duty tripod and fluid video head did most of the work with panning
I need to improve manual focusing, got 7" external monitor for this reason. Now I have to find interesting subjects.

I was wondering how you able to determine such precise focusing while using manual. The 7" screen makes a lot of sense

Great skills. Combo of zooming, manual focusing and tracking a fast moving bird is not something I can do simultaneously.

As its has been said the panning and focusing on this is so well done and its done with a stills camera and not a dedicated movie camera.
So that point alone is one massive vote for you have done so well.
The other so well done vote has to be the lens and as Jay said its heavy and I know as I have got one of the same ones so, mate well done.

The the Actual Pelicans they are looking so close to ours here in Australia but there are many differences to be found.
Mr. Obelix you have done really well and I hope you are one happy person because of what you have done.
