First Sample Photos with my Sony Nex-6 and 16-50mm Zoom Lens!!

I got a few Sony Nex-6 Sample Photos from yesterday!! The Camera finally got done charging and I ran out onto the deck for a quick snapshot of the sky. Colors are rich and trees are sharp!! I shot this in Jpeg Mode - Fine default settings for reference.



Chubs happened to laying by the front glass door and was lit up pretty nice! His eyes were showing lot of color and the background would naturally be dark in contrast. Check out my first pic of Chubs with the Sony Nex-6!! This photo is also really sharp, well exposed, the white balance looks perfect (using Auto), and the depth of field is pretty nice!!





I took this in the Studio really quick just to see if the Nex-6 Hot Shoe would hold and activate my AlienBee Wireless Flash Trigger. It worked perfectly as expected!! Can't wait to do some real studio work with the Sony Nex-6!

I had been originally planning on getting the NEX 6 before I decided to try full frame. I really like the sensor in the 6 over the 7 and the 6 adds many of the external controls that I miss on my 5N. Count me as jealous.

Thanks for the comments Sean You are absolutely correct about the external controls!! The New wheels on top are fantastic and the one just below the mode wheel controls aperture and the thumb wheel controls shutter speed in manual mode. Gatta love it. The camera body is also beefier than I was expecting. It's not metal, but it looks like that really tuff textured plastic that the Sony A57 is made out of. It really feels solid except for the LCD Screen. That screen is so thin it sometimes feels fragile when pulling it out from the locked closed position. It clicks closed with a small tab and I think that might still be a bit tight.

Loving man!! Image quality is phenomenal as usual, and the focus is so much faster it's incredible!! The New PDAF sensors on the image sensor really speeds things up for real. My keeper rate with Layla pictures has also improved as she moves so much, often they are just missed focus. It's faster overall from focus start to shutter re-lease.

I'm working on my First day with the Nex-6 article now Stay tuned for more sample pics,and guess what? Illustration Mode is back with the Apps downloads feature!!! That was my favorite feature of the RX100 believe it or not.

Love the sky shot. The dog is beautiful - both the photo and the hound!

The Nex 6 looks like an amazing camera. I've been reluctant to buy one due to the lack of lenses and the cost of the adapter for use with A mount glass. Does the Nex 6 have a standard 3.5mm microphone input? If not, then it wouldn't be the camera for me. I need to shoot video with high quality audio...
