Nice, Congratulations OldNoob!
Got the same. Likely this spammer has sent us all the same. :/
These are great, Jay. Thanks for sharing them!
Beautiful series, Obelix! Agreed with what Jay said.
Thanks, Jay! Pretty darn nice toss-offs you got there ;) Really like the lines.
Beautiful flora shots, Kijof. Welcome to the SAL community! Folks here are great, very helpful.
Thank you very much for your wonderful comments, Hugh. I got lucky capturing the birds; generally speaking, I miss that little window of opportunity.
A very belated welcome to the community, too!
Things have been crazy busy for me between work and doing mentorships and photo projects over at G+, but I thought I'd add another colorful shot here. One of my projects is shooting up ghost towns....
I'm with OldNoob on this one -- 1/60 or less; I have managed handheld down to about 1/30 with acceptable results. Much longer than that, and out comes the tripod.
Great collection of shots here, you all!
I thought I would add my "color" pick from last week's assignment on composition fundamentals over at the Google + mentorship I'm in.

I keep trying to get my wife, a long-time Pentax fan, interested. Looks a beaut.
I too like this composition. Perhaps a premature question, but how do you like 500px?
Good shots of some pretty cool statues, Gramps!
Colors really pop on the refurbished Pelton Wheel! Great intro shots as usual, Jay.
Pretty hibiscus shots, Willie. Really like that anther on the golden one.
That's one mean Maybelline,...
Just wanted to wish you a hippo birdy two ewes day!
I'm more of a fan of freezing water than blurring it, but you might just make a convert of me, Scott. Beautiful work!
Following Gramps' example, here is some food that hasn't been prepared yet ;p

Excellent primer on moon and astrophotography shots, Stef. Thank you! I'm making a little bit of progress with night shots, but have a long way to go yet. Here is a recent one from my balcony, using...
Pretty moon shots, Gramps. I take it you used your Sigma? Astrophotography is harder than it seems it should be. I'm just getting to the point where my shots are OK. Also like the crescent moons...
