New Sony A-mount Lenses Available from Samyang!!

859140

We have some new lenses on the market from a company called Samyang! The lenses look identical to the Rokinon lenses, so I assume they are the same and just re-labeled or vs verse. That being said these lenses use very good optical elements for a very fair price. The reason for that is there’s no electronics in these lenses which means total manual operation!! The company can then keep the cost down and put in better glass for use folks that don’t mind the manual.

I’ve used the Rokinon 8mm Fisheye for the Nex E-mount on the Nex-7 and it worked very good in my opinion. for more info you can check it out over (Click Here)

Also, be sure to check out all the Rokinon A-Mount Lenses in my newly completed A-mount Lens Guide>>

Closing Remarks

As I said above these lenses have better than average optics in them for a very fair price. Manual operation is the downside, but if your looking for good image quality and your budget is tight I highly recommend checking the Samyang and Rokinon lenses out!!  I also added the lenses to the Sony A-Mount Lens Guide >> I’m still working on.

Samyang is in fact the manufacturer…the Rokinon, Bower, and Vivitar versions of these lenses are supplied by them. They have been an OEM for decades, and have been coming up with some truly great designs lately, a far cry from their efforts 20 years ago (they made a lot of Focal-branded lenses for K-Mart back in the day.)

TP, fount of useless knowledge… ;-)

    Hey,

I want so much to buy this lense, but unfortunately I can’t find any lense profile correction for my sony a57..

    Have you ever found one?

    thanks

    • Jay

There is none that I know of Jacob. You would have to apply the profile in post processing like Lightroom for example. On camera, only Sony lenses are available for automatic profiling I believe.

      Best,
      Jay
